Exam Preparation Tips To Save Your Life & Time
Good exam preparation is the best way to overcome stress and anxiety and gives you the best chance of getting good grades.
Revision tips
Create a realistic playback schedule. Figure out how much you need to do and when you need to do it, then break it down into manageable chunks. Try to do several hours of repetition every day and mix up the topics so you don't get bored.Find an editing style that suits you.Studying alone in a quiet room suits some people, but not everyone likes working in silence. Try playing music quietly in the background, or revising with a friend (but do not let them distract you!).
Customise your notes to make them more personal. Experiment with colour coding, notes on postcards, diagrams or whatever helps you learn your topic.
Make sure you understand everything. If you come across something that you don't understand, try to find a new source of information to help you figure it out. Memorizing alone will not help you on the exam. Don't be afraid to ask a teacher or friend for help if you need it.
Look at the previous exam papers. This will help you become familiar with the layout and the nature of the questions asked. Practice completing exam tasks within the allotted time to improve your exam technique.
Take short breaks regularly. Studying for hours will only tire you out and ruin your concentration, which can make you even more restless. A break every 45-60 minutes is more or less sufficient.
For example, take a long bath or watch a good film after your meeting.
Do something physical. When you're not reviewing, use your free time to take a break from your books and do something active. Exercise is good for reducing stress and keeping a positive attitude, and it also helps you sleep better.
Ask for help. When you're feeling stressed, it's important to tell someone you trust, like a family member, teacher, or friend. Many people find exams difficult to deal with, so don't be afraid to ask for help.
