Update: Prof Gyampo elected as UTAG-UG President.
The University of Ghana's political science lecturer, lecturer Ransford Gyampo, has been chosen to lead the University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG).
He was chosen with 93.3% of all valid votes cast.
On Thursday, August 17, 2023, he posted on social media about his victory.
"As the driver, I'll vigorously and proactively advance the interests of my people. In his speech, he stated, "I lost some friends while serving as General Secretary, and I don't mind losing more as I push more for the University Teacher as President.
He added “It won’t be out of malice or hatred for any regime. It would be just for the advancement of the interest of my people.
“Thanks to you all for the well wishes; thanks to all my colleague lecturers for the confidence they have shown in me and thanks to my students who were relentless in their support for me.”
